As can be seen... there are 2 serious contenders for the trophy if KM is not on the top... Mokhlis is only 80 and JT is only 129 away from KM... the scenario can be very probably... though tough as all the 3 have their HCP cut.. so KM is on the upper hand...

Our sponsor.. Sunny Phang... needs a bull's eye to be in contention.... very probable as we all have 4 chances on Palm 1 and 2...As for yours truly.. nothing short of Hole in One will do the job... hee hee...

The rest of the pack will be pretty sad to say... better luck and play next year..

Unless there is an upset the Nett and Gross Best has already got winners in Dato Ng and JT.....Congrats....

The end of 2011 is drawing to a close... and we have a neck to neck between KM and Moklhis.... diff is only 80.... it can go any way...... dont forget JT and SP... who are lurching just round the corner to pound on the trophy.... Bull's eye and podium in the next 2 games.... at least this year we dont have a runaway..... May the better player of the next 2 games decides the winner....

As for others.. there is always year 2012..... till the year ends.. there is any potential going for the bull's eye or Hole in One???

Looks like the Nett and Gross Best score will be... JT and Dato Ng..... any one to take up the challenge.....

This year AGM will be at KGNS.... and having Japanese food .....

Helo friends.. the year 2011 is coming to an end.... last game is on 4 Nov 2011.... and also our AGM and dinner with prize giving ...

I think we have a strong competition between... the finalists Mokhlis and KM... for the trophy... though Mokhlis is the underdog...

If nothing upset happening.. this year champion will be KM.. a second timer to the trophy....who knows.. this sat or next might be a lucky day for the 1K markers... hole in One or Bull's eye... then we just might have an upset....

All the same.. it has been ups and downs for our memebrs and also with 2 new challenges we did have an exciting year.... Hope that the CM... will come up with more challenges or exciting trips for next year...

Raymond had n easy win over Yow.. while Sunny Phang makes minced meat of Gary???, Steven came back and beat JT after 5 down on first 5 holes.. what a draw of energy and determination....

I and GC... well GC gave me the first 2 holes .. then I try too hard to match him and we were all square in no time... and i was 1 down at times... but on the turn I was 1 UP... for whatever reasons... GC fumbles and I was 5 up 5 to go... and it went to 4 up 4 to go after hole 14... and hole 15... got a par and double 3 to sealed the game... thank you... I did ok on the 2nd nine with 2 under my HCP.. no complains.. KW.. where is my podium??? hee hee lucky devil...

This Sat.. will be free for those that finished the 2nd round... some will played their 2nd....

Looks like Sunny throne is only for a week... JT took back his position... KM with last week win.. push him to 3rd place... a lot of movement on the leaderboard.. which is healthy...obviously this matchplay with RM400 is very much the deciding factor for the Cup.....

Please take note that there was some technical hiccup in the HCP maintenance in the system... a BUG has infected the system and the sec will try his very best in these trying times to rectify it.... please be patience....

This bug was reported by JT..... and admitted by the sec.... Capt Wanabe...

Hello Hello hello... We have Dato Ng sitting at the finalist stand and awaits the other contender (SP vs KM) for the finals this Saturday... @nd Matchplay finals... Palm 1 and Palm 2...

Dato Ng.. has added a feather on his hat with the best Gross score of 77 with Palm 2 and BRC on the 3rd Sept... Just imagine how his opponent felt on that day... I was told that JT has to fight with all his skills and might at theturn... as he was 7 down and 9 to go... JT did made a strong comeback with par birdie par par.. but it was not good enough to take Dato Ng his position in the finals.... the score was 5, 3....

SP has to wait for KM to play on a weekday as KM could not make it on last Sat... Technically SP has won on KM being absent from the T box on last Sat.. but SP being gentleman... as this game is a gentleman game.. accepted a delay match on a weekday to give KM a fair chance....and I am very sure that KM or anyone would do the same....

Where is baby shark... seem like the normal call of the day....

New stuff added in blog.. we have the last week score card for those who are interested....

Wesak day is on Tuesday.. Wishing all celebrating a joyful day... and happy holidays to others.. bet some of us will be on course enjoying the sun and sweat over the holes... come this Tuesday...

Well last week was awesome as you need to do 67 Nett stroke to be the champion... guess after all the R&D, it finally pays off for JM..... well done.... wish I acn say for myself... but it looks like the other way round... and we have 4 players at 69... bet some of them would have been rather happy with 69 or 70... but you got the surprise... 70 ie 2 under... no prize leh... dont smell the podium either.. lucky to get away with ball sweep and still have to share.... just think about it... last Sat... was a very competitive game.... and stroke play....

Guess our stingers members are getting better or is it the BRC is too tame...???

Come next Sat.. Palm 1 and 2... guess the long hitters are smiling....

End of April game

It was a wash out day.... so sad... it started so nice but alas... come 2nd nine... thunder and rain.... we were split into 2 groups... one went to the shelter hut hole palm 14.... while another group went to the coffee terrace... both groups have top players... LKW and JM had 19 points and sitting comfy at the shelter... but we have DSO and Albert Too with 20 pts and JT 19 pts... was someone disappointed.!!! I think Capt Wananbe was the most disappointed.... hee hee...

However, our flight continue after the rain.... and I manage to redeem some dignity... and won back some losses I had on the first nine... Not a bad day out....

'This week we still have Palm Palm to enjoy.... perhaps some one out there might be a bit sick of the ocurse ah???

Hello Hello Hello.. Mokhlis is in the driver seat once again.. wow.. you got to give it to him being so consistent with his game and me so consistently Inconsistent... as LPK puts it to me....

JT is also pushing his numbers up.... looks like its going to be a good fight at the top... and with new and good player like YOW... its going to be very interesting at the top.... Hello... any more coming to the challenge at the top....

Well with Capt Wanabe.. chasing his new "job".. looks like I am in for a tube of Pro V balls.... hee hee.....

And a little bird told me that LPK "might" be requesting for a second review of his HCP... Hee Hee....

Hello hello hello... yours truly is up there once again... hmmm... wonder for how long as I can see a Tiger is on the prowl.... RM500+ in 2 games.... Better buck up else.. cannot smell gas...

Glad to see Sunny is back in the fold last week.. wonder when GC is coming back..... Of late.. quite a few injury list in Stingers.. wonder why... try too hard or age creeping up... any comments... I prefer to say the former... what say you????

A little bird told me that the overseas game is off for the time being... is it due to lack of quorom or "worried" about nuclear fallout??? take your pick and we are not going yet... One wonder if the local Cameron trip will be on or not???

Somehow I do miss the trip to Cameron..the early game at Beringin and lunch at Songkai... and a lazy drive up to have tea and scones at Smoke house.... enjoy the cool and fresh air in the evening and have a sumptious steamboat dinner.... enjoy the nite sky and sleep well for the next day game early in the morning.... Brings back good memory.. especially for DSO... Hole in ONE....

THe SKIN matchplay result

Some commentary on the SKIN matchplay......

The qualifiers are Yow KT, John Tan, Steven Tan and Leven Wong....

For the first 5 holes.... Yow was always there threatening the skin... and we were taking turns to half him along the way... and we lost all 6 skins on the 6th hole.... We all were just demoralised or at least me and S. Tan.... lucky for me I manage to close it on the 9th hole and took 3 skins.... Phew.... all tension release... Skinless.... fobia gone....
The skins for 1st nine is RM20.....

FOr the 2nd nine.. the skin was RM30 and we have Palm 1 to beat... and JOhn got his 1st skin at hole 1.... and I was lucky to get the par 3 hole... as JT and S Tan had t off problem and Yow either have putting jibbs or just giving me the chance... missed the hole and i won the skin....

The Par 5 was halved and JT got the next hole with a birdie to beat Yor with a missed par.... So John has 3 skins...The next Par 3... looks like steven had the best chance with a birdie ... and i Par the hole when he has only to putt in for birdie to take the skin.... halve and the next par 4.... Yow 2 on regulation and only have to park for par to take the 2 skins....

The next hole Par 5.... John landed on the green on regulation 3... and I was 3 around 80yds to the green... hit a good wedge and landed just outside putter length.... John missed the birdie and end up a Bogey... I only need to park to take the hole...

Stadium hole... Yow T-off and had a good drive to the plateau but compalined of cramp.....on right calf...John advise him to take off and give up... hee hee... Yow par the hole and John missed the par for bogey.. Yow another skin....

Last hoel came up and Steven Tan was desperate to get the last skin... else end up skinless..... As the saying goes... desperate people do desperate things and sure enough.... got 2 on green and putt for a given PAR.... being John... he tried to put for birdie to half and all will have to share the hole.... hee hee... however... his put missed the hole closely and got a par for the hole....

The result :

Yow KT : 6 x RM20 + 3 x RM30 = RM210
Leven Wong = 3 x Rm20 + 2 X RM30 = RM120
John Tan : 3 x RM30 = RM90
Steven Tan = 1 x RM30 = RM30

Of course we have the 5th to 8th place each receive RM30..... They are

Gary Foong = RM30
Mokhlis = RM30
Yap CK = RM30

We had a field day with 17 members battling out today at the Saujana for a place in the First Sking Matchplay Q round....

With members returning from Australia and USA plus an old friend of the Srtinger... SC Tan, we had a great day of golf... a Hot day if I may add.... though you only need to play 37 pts willl secure you at pole position..... and 34 pts will be on the last of the Q for Skins...
Oh... Dont forget our new probation members.... Yau and Bernard... its their 2nd day with stingers.. members will have to decide on their application..... mind you a little bird told me that there will be bottles of single malt... on the table comes next Sat...

Greetings from Orlando, Florida (The home state of Tiger Woods)

Dscoop is a NGO that organized the recent concluded 3 days conference here. Part of the conference is Dscoop President Cup golf competition between Dscoop America and Dscoop Asia. The event was held in one of the best golf course here. It is The Ritz Carlton Golf Club, a course deign by Greg Norman.

The captain of the American Team, Craig Curran was very kind to arrange the details. As this is the first Dscoop Golf challenge and held in homeland, the underdog Asia Team naturally felt intimidated by height and by size.

Since your truly is the Asia Captain, naturally have to play with my counterpart. Another advantage for them is they got to play a practice round a day earlier. Also all play on par golf.

So how man? Suicidal.

HHMM<<<< Now we know where Colonel has disappeared the last couple of rounds.... Suicidal or not... you carry the Asian Flag.... Congrats....

Finally.... Me in the leaderboard... just barely.... ahead of Mokhlis..and KM.... I was quite lucky last Sat... as I think the God of Golf.. shines brighter on me.. quite a few good recovery shots.. and the 3 putts jubbs were away on holiday that day...

Cannot say the same for baby shark.... he lost balls on 2 holes having to record 11 and 9 strokes for them... else... he would be in the podium position.... the lesson to learn is play a Provisional ball if ever in doubt where your ball landed... or perhaps get a good caddie....

Sorry Dato Steve... being held in suspense as he was the club house champion with 1 under.... he has to be rescind to 3rd place as JM and LW came back with 4 and 2 under.... but it should be ok as he was enjoying his cigar... that day...

Heard that Colonel... is in USA... some were saying he is under secret training from the PGA coaches... and will come back with a sharpen knife... no skill i meant.... Better keep an eye on colonel when he is Backkkk..... all the best ....

First Game in the year of the Rabbit

Due to some technical issues, the results were a bit late.... all the same.... Looks like Moklis is making his move in climbing the ladder of the medal list....with par par birdies in the previous game... whoever in his flight would probably felt the pressure .....

What happen to our defending champion... Capt Wanabe.... probably his other hobby is more interesting than golf.....

A little bird told me that baby shark is taking time off this year to look after his new born..... come May 2011.... we expect to see less of baby shark on course..... unless of course we present him with a baby carrier... hee hee All is not lost.... Congrats......

SP should be back by next month..... after taking care of C5..... and wonder if GC is recovering from "cold" shoulder or injury????

Lastly... larry.... We are not getting any younger... a 30KM bike cycling is ok for flat ground... but try not to do that in Bangsar... which BTW is termed... Hilly spot.....

A sad day for Baby Shark....

Baby Shark had a sad day playing on last week... He was "whacked"left right and centre.... from JT anf KM... playing 9 and 6 under..... how demoralising can one get when your playing mates are scoring like eat lettuce..... Hope they submit their score care for the day... hee hee....

After all the tiring and sweat day of "demoralising" game... come back with only a sandwich to drown his sorrows... no beer to drown in mae...... Wonder what happen... KM and JT need to go off early (or did they?) hence no long chating and socialising "makan and drinks....." If this is not a sad day... I dont know what????

After much strategies and hard play... we finally have a champ for the last match play... he is none other than HM Choong... COngrats.....

A little bird told me that although he was the champ...on that final day... he was whacked left right and centre by our baby shark......

though have not palyed the NEW bunga course... the general comment was that it was a baby course... not much challenge.... so you guys must be shooting... a lot birdies and pars.... We might just have to play from Black tees just to make the course a little bit difficult.... I dont know...... what do you guys think??? Well while many play well on the course... someone has to OB 3 times on the course... imagine that... only happen to long hitter eh?

Well well well... another year come another year go.... So come 5 Nov.. it will be our last game for 2010.... and looks like Capt Wanabe is secured for the trophy ... how un-exciting.... no challenger ... Well Well Well.... With a gross score of 80, who else can claim that they will give Capt Wanabe a run for the trophy.... the only serious contender will be either JM or SP.... still need some good golf skill and lots of luck as they will need hole in One to be any where near the "champ"....

As last week we saw quite an interesting competition where there was a 3 corner fight... HM, RW, ATand one more... HM came out clean and beat all the odds....

GC our PJ gang leader has carry the flag pretty well if I may say so... the last 2 rounds that I witness was remarkable... and mind you he was using 3 woods all the 18 holes ( Who needs a driver) and his deadly putting really puts a damper to his competitor's confidence and motivation.... 30 foot difficult put also can go in... how to put after that...

A word of advise to WTW.... strategy to "beat"GC is keep shouting " One Time" on the green... hee hee....

Baby Shark seems like run out of steam.... maybe need to revisit Roger... in Thailand... or refer to Capt Wanabe...

Capt Wanabe... better ask our sponsor, SP , to start etching his name on the trophy... and also perhaps take "champ foto" early as you are going away come AGM this year....

Well well well... looks like our Capt Wanabe.... is going to have a smooth sailing to the podium come first Friday of Nov.... for the crown jewel.... UNLESS of course... JM and SP has something up their sleeves for the next few games....

Dont say I didnt try to throw a spanner into his machinery... just that he was so good in his 2nd nine that i was forced into one too many occassion to play better... i think i did my best just not good enough,... sigh,,,,,, 7 pars and 2 boggies is tough to beat... right?

A little bird told me that there was an incident where the 5 minutes limit was "enforced" while searching for the ball.... Now I would like to pose a protocol or SOP when one face this situation.... do we the flight mate starts the clock timing upon start of the search and who is suppose to keep the time? It would be of interest to the competitor to "hasten"the timing etc... so how eh? I personally feel a friendly touch is needed here.... Any comments you would like to raise or perhaps as an agenda for next AGM????

Well Well Well... look at the results of Roger's training... two of his students are reigning high up on the leaderboard.... As can be seem, our Capt Wanabe... as claimed earlier he wants the trophy this year... if anything to go by it... baby shark might just ask him to hlod on... i am right behind you....

So sorry for the hiccups in the reporting... will try to patch up with reports on the last matchplay results... soon...

All the same.. we have a rest this saturday due to medal play.... however.. I got the "honour" to play off with the leaderboards Capt Wananbe and baby shark..... this Sat... AM... probably by any standard I will be shark's meat.....

Take a rest and who knows.. Capt is organising a trip to the highlands... Cameron... Yee Hah.... Just love the itinery.... ig we were to go to play in the morning at Berinigin.... break lunch at Sungkai for fresh water fish and pork knuckles... yummy... and take a slow drive up the mountain... in SUV, MPV and perhaps TRX or posche... and end up in the high tea at the Smoke House..... overlooking the golf course.... with a bit of drizzle... and take a refreshing shower and off to steam boat dinner at the roadside..... and Smoke cigars over a glass of beer or wine ... early rise for a round of golf in misty mronaing at the public course.... have a quick shower and lunch before we say.. A little bird told me the result of LKW VS JM... it was like a clash of the Titans... LKW played 86 gross... and only win JM by a whiskers... 1-0... and last hole decide.. it was suppose to be over for JM as he was down 2 with 3 to go... But knowing James... fight to the end... except when he wants tothrow strokes.. (just joking).... and came back with birdie and "whacked" KW to a all square... with last hole to play... Alas... if not for athe bunker shot.. then they might have to play sudden death to decide....

hmmmm. Looks like Capt Wanabe is makinghis move to topple the leaderboard... with the win last week and "secured"a placing for the matchplay... will he be coming back next week to make certain a place in the top4 for the "skin"matchplay...

I dont have the list of qualifiers on official basis but if my memory serves me right... they are LKW, WTW,HM choong....others not sure and I am also not sure where my position is with 31 points??? hee hee

So sorry to say Gary is down with injury... he is back last week... only a slight "torn"of ligament and tendon at the shoulder joint.... no medication, no sugery or accupuncture... self healing.... but i am sure his flight mates are a bit happy...as he did not play his level best.... thousand apologies....

Let the Game begin.... once again... our mathcplay qualifying round will begin this Saturday... for 2 rounds to decide who will be in the matchplay.... As you can see from the table... Dato Steve is top of the leaderboard.... but i heard that capt wanabe and baby shark is lurking behind to kick ass... for those who are not careful....

A little bird told me that we have another casualty in our group for golf... ie. our chaiman for Social sub comm.... Gary Foong... i dont have much details as to how the accident happen but looks like he will be out of action for a period.... Peng Kai.... how is your recovery.... we do miss your cool action....

Organising Chairman, Dato Steve is planning a Merdeka Golf and cordially invites you (on 1st come basis) to join in with details as follows:

Aug 29/Sunday Leave KL about 9:30am to Johor Baru. We play a round at Legend Golf Club after lunch at Yong Peng. After game, put up a night in Hyatt JB or equvlent.

Aug 30/Monday Catch an early Ferry from Changi to Bintan. Play Ian-Baker Finch Woodlands Course in the afternoon.

Aug 31/Tuesday Play Jack Nicklaus Seaview Course in the morning and a slow drive back to KL.

Classic Paradise Package Rates (Single - S$ 395/Twin-S$ 325) are inclusive of the following:

· Return ferry tickets on Economy class (Singapore-Bintan-Singapore)

· Government taxes (package rates are subject to change on changes in tax policy)

After the oversea games at bandung...

Overseas or away games always blessed Dato Steve.... The last rip over at Cameron,, Dato got a hole in One....and this time round... at Bandung... he got Bull's eye... and leap him right infront of the leaderboard.... Congrats Dato...

OVer two stinger's sanctioned games, WTW finished as the nett top score in Bandung... and with COMPLIMENTS from our sponsor, Dato Steve, the prize was a box of Pro V balls.... wonder he ever going to use ot not???? hee hee

A little bird told me that there were actually 3 shared champion on the first day...... there was Steve, MCK and another... seems like Dato thought since got bull's eye.. give others a chance... wonder what happen to MCK??? he probably have a story to tell.... as he did not come in and give WTW a fight....

I am sure Colonel has pictures to put up but the format was too large in size for me to download... hopefully he will resize the pic for us...

Till then.. have a good golf round this Sat Morning in conjunction with Agung's B'day... Lunch is underwrite by the group with each going member RM10... Remember the penalty for non stinger T-shirt this Sat... for those who read the blog...
